Speaker: Roger Hallam

Born in 1966, Roger Hallam is a Welsh farmer and co-founder of Extinction Rebellion and Insulate Britain. He studied for a PhD at King’s College in London researching how to achieve social change through civil disobedience and radical mobilisation before launching Extinction Rebellion with the "Declaration of Rebellion" on 31st October 2018 outside the UK Parliament. Extinction Rebellion is now a global environmental movement. Roger Hallam has been arrested multiple times, been on hunger strike twice and been imprisoned three times in the last three years. In 2019 he published Common Sense for the 21st Century: Only Nonviolent Rebellion Can Now Stop Climate Breakdown and Social Collapse and the essay entitled The Civil Resistance Model in This Is Not a Drill: An Extinction Rebellion Handbook.
