DAMIEN SMITHDamien is an experienced sustainability professional with a broad knowledge of internal and external sustainability projects and initiatives. He is a reporting and data collection expert having previously worked extensively on managing data collection for environmental audits across a wide range of vertical businesses. He holds an MSc in Environmental Governance from the University of Manchester and is an AIEMA qualified environmental auditor. Since 2013 he has focused on developing supply chain data collection methodologies with Ecodesk and is currently behind a number of industry-led initiatives focusing on carbon reduction and supply chain sustainability assessment. Prior to running Ecodesk, he was part of the UK Government’s Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership advising on EV infrastructure and helped develop carbon accounting strategies for UK BCSD. He sits on the advisory panel for GEMI (Global Environmental Management Initiative) and is currently a contributor to a UN PRI working group on supply chain ESG data strategies.

He has been responsible for overseeing the Ecodesk technical development of a WBCSD (World Business Council for Sustainable Development) led initiative to develop the Reporting Exchange - the global platform to map the non-financial reporting landscape in association with WBCSD, CDSB and the Moore Foundation. In 2018 the Reporting Exchange was a winner of an ISAR Honours Award on behalf of UNCTAD.
