Nominations for the AidEx 2017 Humanitarian Hero Award close this Friday, 13 October. The prize is given to recognise the courageous and admirable work of every humanitarian aid and development worker. It is your opportunity to nominate an individual who you feel stands out in the field. This year marks the seventh prestigious Humanitarian Hero Award.
Do you know a humanitarian hero?
Nominations are open to individuals from across the sector, including those who work for suppliers, NGOs, governmental individuals and the development aid community.
To nominate someone for the award, complete the form by Friday 13 October 2017.
Finalists will be announced shortly after this date. The winner will be awarded during the AidEx networking reception on 15 November at Brussels Expo in Belgium.
At AidEx 2016, Dr Cynthia Maung was awarded for her exceptional work that has helped to provide healthcare and education to poor ethnic minorities along the Thai-Myanmar border. After pro-democracy demonstrations in Burma in 1988, Dr Muang had fled to Karen State where she was born to open the Mae Tao Clinic. Starting as a makeshift clinic with limited supplies and almost no money, her clinic now treats over 75,000 patients a year.
