PhilPhil Hepworth has been involved in humanitarian aid work in Tanzania in the area of water and health for the last 12 years. He established an NGO called Water for Africa in Tanzania, Australia and Malaysia. To date it has given clean water to over 3 million people along with training and equipping local teams for sustainability. WFA Tanzania recently purchased a farm with a vision of becoming self-sustaining within the country through the planting of 40 acres of avocado. A ‘Seed Program’ was implemented helping over 90 widows and their families through the provision of seed and training. The Mercyhands Program was developed to allow health to advance through the provision of clean water by enabling Doctors and Nurses from Australia to partner together with rural Tanzanian hospitals.
